Four firefighters were injured Friday evening when a blaze erupted in a subway utility room near the 103rd Street–Corona Plaza station on the No. 7 line in Queens, New York.
The fire broke out just before 8 p.m. near Roosevelt Avenue. Firefighters responded promptly and brought the flames under control within an hour. Two of the injured firefighters sustained minor injuries and were transported to a hospital for treatment. The remaining two are being evaluated by medical personnel; their conditions have not been disclosed.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. No civilian injuries were reported. The incident has disrupted service on the 7 train line, and transit officials are working to assess the damage and restore full operations.
The FDNY has not yet released further details, and authorities are expected to provide an update as the investigation progresses.
